We charge £65 per hour for standard work and £95 for the first hour of an emergency call-out, at any time of day or night. There is no call-out fee and no out-of-hours premium. Fixed-price jobs start at £85 for an extra socket, £120 for an EICR and £550 for a consumer unit replacement. All prices exclude VAT.

VAT is added at 20 percent. We quote excluding VAT because much of our work is for landlords and businesses who reclaim it — your written quote always shows both the net and the gross figure, so there is never a surprise at the end.

Parts are charged at cost plus 15 percent, and we tell you the price before fitting anything. Van stock covers most common repairs, so you are rarely paying for a second visit.

The things people ask before booking

How much do electricians charge per hour in London?
Most London electricians charge between £60 and £90 per hour, and many add 50 to 100 percent for evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We charge £65 per hour flat, at any hour, with a one-hour minimum. An emergency call-out is £95 for the first hour because it includes diagnosis and making the fault safe, then £65 per hour after.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. You pay for the time we are on site and for any parts, and nothing to get us there. A separate call-out fee — typically £50 to £90 in London, often charged even if the job takes ten minutes — is the single most common complaint about emergency electricians, and we do not have one.
How much does an EICR certificate cost?
£120 for a one-bedroom flat, £150 for two or three bedrooms, and £180 for four or more bedrooms or an HMO. That is the full price including the written report — there is no separate certificate fee, which is a common way of making an advertised price look lower than it is. Very large or heavily sub-divided properties are quoted after a quick look at the board.
Why do some electricians quote so much less?
Usually one of three reasons. The advertised price excludes VAT, the certificate, or the parts. The job is priced cheap and the remedial work found during it is priced expensively — very common with EICRs. Or the electrician is not registered with a competent person scheme, which means the work cannot be self-certified and you will have a problem when you sell or let. Ask what the total is including VAT, certification and notification, and compare that number.
Is VAT included in these prices?
No — every price on this page excludes VAT, and VAT is added at 20 percent. We show prices this way because a large share of our work is for landlords and businesses who reclaim it, and quoting inclusive prices would misrepresent the cost to them. Your written quote always shows both figures.
Do I have to pay if you cannot fix it?
You pay for the time spent diagnosing, because that work has genuine value even when the answer is bad news — it might be that the fault is the freeholder's responsibility, or the supply company's, or that an appliance needs replacing rather than repairing. What you will not get is a bill for parts we did not fit or work we did not do. If we cannot help, we will tell you who can.
How do you price larger jobs like a rewire?
Fixed price after seeing the property, never over the phone. A rewire's cost is driven by how hard the building is to work in — solid walls, no floor void and lath-and-plaster ceilings can add days — and nobody can judge that without looking. Anyone who quotes a full rewire down the phone is guessing, and the number will move.
