In the extended Heaver Estate houses, the emergency we get called to most is a whole-house RCD trip that nobody can reset, caused by a fault on a circuit added during an extension years ago. Because the additions were done piecemeal, the board labelling is usually wrong or missing, so finding which circuit is at fault takes testing rather than reading. The property types we see in Balham
The Heaver Estate — the grid between Nightingale Lane and Balham High Road — is 1890s to 1900s, and unusually for inner London a high proportion has stayed as single family houses rather than being converted.
